Dr. Kiran Gupta is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, where she practices hospital medicine and serves as the Medical Director for Patient Safety.
Kiran was previously an attending physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, where she completed her residency in internal medicine as well as the Harvard Medical School Fellowship in Patient Safety and Quality. Prior to that, Kiran served as a Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Fellow at the National Academy of Medicine in Washington, DC. Kiran writes about medicine and healthcare and has been a correspondent for The Boston Globe and a columnist for the Financial Times Weekend Magazine.
Kiran received her A.B. in Government with a Certificate in Health Policy from Harvard College, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Harvard Health Policy Review. She earned her M.D. from Harvard Medical School and received her M.P.H. from the Harvard School of Public Health. Her interests include patient safety, quality improvement, and end-of-life care.
